Human Rights & Inequality in a New Millennium

March 29-30, 2004
University of Richmond School of Law

The University of Richmond School of Law and the UNESCO Chair in Comparative Human Rights co-sponsored an international conference focusing upon the challenges posed to human rights flowing from various forms of inequality (formal and informal), and especially inequality of educational and housing opportunities. The conference was organized partly in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education, and because housing patterns and options impact educational opportunities, the conference also addressed housing inequality. The conference drew individuals from diverse disciplines and professions such as politics, law, community development and education and included Virginia Governor Mark R. Warner.
